Here we are then, getting closer to Round 3 of our 2026 Championship!

2026 is the year where we run our Club meetings under KX.

To you they look like to random letters put together, but they mean something. This is even better for those who race IKR.

A KX licence is a š‘“š‘Ÿš‘’š‘’ licence (yes you've read that correctly) that allows you to race MSUK events at a circuit. Depending on where you want to race, hopefully with us at Clay Pigeon Raceway, you can apply for a licence for that track.

š»š‘œš‘¤ š‘š‘Žš‘› š¼ š‘Žš‘š‘š‘™š‘¦ š‘“š‘œš‘Ÿ š‘œš‘›š‘’? Good question!

If you already have a Motorsport UK account hit login, otherwise click the Join Now button on the left.

When creating your account, make sure to enter all the relevant information required by MSUK.

Once you have done that, near the end it will ask you to add an licence. For now, hit "NOT NOW".

You'll then need to head over to the Entry-Level Licences tab and select the add button on the right. From here it will ask you for what licence, in this case KX. Then it will ask you for the type of licence. Make sure to select Kart KX. Below make sure to select 2026.

Next it will ask you to select a club. In our case it'll be Clay Pigeon Kart Club (CPKC). From there follow the forms as required. Make sure to read thoroughly the information and just like that you've applied for you KX Licence.

You should receive an email once completed / accepted.

If you need any help with this, please give us and email and we guide you through.

If you need to watch a video to apply for one, here is an informative video by Club100's Molly Vigor who have a detailed video explaining how to sign up. Just remember when selecting a club you chose Clay Pigeon Kart Club https://shorturl.at/j3c5L

Despite it being easy and free to get this licence, we still want to make you aware of some information.

KX is still under Motorsport UK rules and regulations. This means competitors are still required to meet The Karting Year Book and National Competition Rules (commonly referred to as the NCRs). In easier terms: This means the kart - chassis, engine, bodywork, carburettor, exhaust etc will need to meet MSUK requirements. This also means your kart suit, gloves, boots and helmets also need to meet the set requirements. All of these can be found via the resource centre on the MSUK website linked below this section.

Top tip when searching through the Year Book or NCR, use Ctrl + F and use the search feature in your browser, better to use on Laptop or Desktop.

Racing with the CPKC in 2026 couldn't be easier!

Great news for next round! Our live track view will be retired for a round as we will have live commentary by STARTLINE. They are students from Solent University!
