Unfortunately our concerns were realised today as Motorsport UK have revoked permits for all events until the 2nd December 2020. This means that our Final Round, scheduled for this Sunday 8th November, has been cancelled.
With regards to the Championship, this will now be counted as a best 3 of 5, counted from the successfully held rounds; 2, 6, 7, 8 & 9. As the 25 bonus points, specified in the Championship regulations, were explicitly for the 8th November 2020 (Last) Round (sic), these points will not be rolled back to round 9.
Therefore, the Championship tables, as they stand after October’s Round 9, will be the final table for the 2020 season.
Congratulations to the victors and runners-up of the 2020 Championships – Championships that never had the opportunity to be anything but competitive. When you consider that Round 9 hosted not only the Rotax Festival, but the final racing opportunity for our Round of the Rotax British Championships, for almost 200 competitors, the end may have been sooner than expected, but it was spectacular!
Entries for the cancelled November round will be refunded. This will take time, so please bear with us during this process.
