ADDITIONAL SUPPLEMENTARY REGULATIONS
Due to the high number of entries at this meeting, it is necessary to alter regulation to alter regulation 7 of the Supplementary Regulations.
REGULATION 7
Each driver will compete in (1) Timed Qualifying (2) 1 Heat (3) At least 1 Pre-final (4) At least 1 Final
The standard scheduled time for all classes will be :-
Timed Qualifying 6 Minutes
Heat 7 Minutes + 1 Lap
‘B’ Pre-Final 7 Minutes + 1 Lap
‘A’ Pre-Final 8 Minutes + 1 Lap
‘B’ Final 8 Minutes + 1 Lap
‘A’ Final 12 Minutes + 1 Lap
Whenever practicable the above scheduled distances will be raced, but should any race distance be reduced at the discretion of the Clerk of the Course or the Stewards of the meeting, it will count as a full result, subject to Regulation U7.9 – U7.9.3 of the 2018 MSA Kart Race Yearbook.
Heats and Finals duration may be reduced in wet weather or unforeseen circumstances and will be announced on the dummy grid prior to the race. Changes may also be made during racing for safety reasons.
(a) QUALIFYING – Your best qualifying time will determine your grid position for your heat. If your class exceeds 34 on the grid your heat position will be determined in the following way:-
The fastest Qualifying time will be pole on Heat ‘A’, second fastest Qualifying time will be pole on Heat ‘B’, third fastest Qualifying time Grid 2 for Heat ‘A’, fourth fastest Qualifying time Grid 2 for Heat ‘B’ and so on.
(b) HEATS – Your finishing position in the heat will determine your grid position for the pre-final. If there is a Heat A and Heat B in your class, the top 12 in each heat will go straight to the Pre ‘A’ Final, the rest will proceed to the ‘B’ Pre-Final.
(c) ‘B’ PRE-FINAL – The top 4 from the ‘B’ Pre-final will proceed straight to the back of the ‘A’ Pre-Final. The rest will compete in the ‘B’ Final.
(d) ‘A’ PRE-FINAL – The result of the ‘A’ Pre-Final will determine your grid position for the ‘A’ Final.
(e) ‘B’ FINAL – The top 4 in the ‘B’ Final will proceed to the back of the ‘A’ Final. The finishing position of the rest will be their final points scoring towards the overall Wessex Championship.
(f) ‘A’ FINAL – Trophies for the Wessex Challenge will be determined by your finishing position in the ‘A’ Final. Points for the Wessex Championship will be determined by your finishing position in the ‘B’ and ‘A’ Finals.
PLEASE ENSURE YOU COMPLY WITH THE ABOVE REGULATION AS NON-COMPLIANCE COULD LEAD TO EXCLUSION FROM THE MEETING.
