It’s been a little quiet here recently, mainly because there hasn’t been much to say, but straight off the back of the October committee meting, i realise there are a few things i can, and should, communicate…
I’ll try and keep it all relatively concise to avoid any headaches! 🙂
First, and possibly the most important thing in this post: Perpetual Trophy winners of 2017, if you have not yet returned your trophies, please do at your nearest convenience. We want to make sure we can get the trophies polished up and get the plates engraved to ensure your legacy lives on. If we don’t get the trophies back in time, there might just be a gap on the plate where your name should be!
The next round is not only the final round of the CPKC season, no – it’s also the annual Cancer Research UK fundraising event. Due to other commitments throughout the year, this seemed the most suitable event event in the 2018 calendar to hold the fundraiser. So, whilst your hands are busy making the most of the bonus 25 points during the deciding round of the championship, make sure you take 5 seconds to stick them in your wallet!
With over 300,000 new cancer patients in the UK in 2016 [1] (that’s an average of 828 each day), its by far one of the biggest (and scariest) health issues in the spotlight. Organisations like Cancer Research UK have made amazing progress in diagnosis and treatment of illness’ which has allowed with one year survival rates increasing from 61% in 2000 to 72% in 2015 [2]. That’s an 11% rise in Cancer Survival rates in just 15 years!
As mentioned in one our Holy Cow, this is close post, not only is every championship going down to the wire, but there is a bonus 25 points just for signing on at the final round of the championship. Make sure that you get your entry in!
If you aren’t up to anything on the 24th and 25th November, why not head over to Silverstone for KartMania! We’ll be there encouraging the sport of karting and pimping out the Rotax Festival, Early Bird Memberships, and probably ourselves! Make sure you keep an eye out for CPKC’s Super Model line-up and get a membership form from them, if you haven’t already sent yours in.
As mentioned in our What’s on your mind? post, Early Bird memberships are back for another year! (aren’t we generous!) That’s right, just for getting in there early, you can save yourself a tenner on next year’s MSA Kart Club membership, making us one of, if not the cheapest way for you to qualify for your 2019 racing season. Head on over to our Membership page, where all the links have no been updated for the 2019 membership and Pit space reservation forms!
Lastly, our presentation evening! Due to it being a busy end of year, to help avoid clashes we have decided to book the presentation evening for the 5th January. The presentation evening will be hosted at the Quicksilver Mail in Yeovil, just a short (downhill) walk into the town with plenty of hotels near by if the Quicksilver itself is full up! Once menu options are finalised, we’ll put a ticket order form up online for you to fill out and return to us.
So, if you’re still with us, congratulations, hopefully it wasn’t too painful a read!
Please enjoy this video of a good doggo as a remedy for your migraine..
