CANCER RESEARCH CHARITY EVENT 12th/13th JULY

It’s time to get entering for our annual Chris Hart Cancer Research Charity Event being held on the 12th and 13th July. Special perpetual trophies will be awarded alongside normal race trophies. Sunday’s race results also count towards your club championship points as usual. These are two individual race days with two sets of trophies being awarded. You can enter either or both races. The overall winner of the perpetual trophies will be decided on the accrued points from both races and will be presented at trophy-giving on Sunday.

Raffle prizes desperately needed. Please bring them along on race day or drop them off at the circuit if you’re up that way beforehand. Can you please email me at comp_sec@claypigeonkartclub.com with a brief description of what you are donating. Please ask your friends, family and workplace to make a donation.

This year’s attractions include a hogroast, with a free serving for every entrant. Other food will be available to purchase also. James Alexander’s parents will be displaying two of their award winning Aston Martins, Sam Jenkins (SJM Motorsport) will be bringing his newly developed kart simulator. Harry Millward, one of our club members and the drummer in “Finches Fly” will be performing with his friends Saturday evening. The circuit are preparing two karts for a kart-push relay race. Teams needed, the more in a team the better your chances of getting the quickest lap time and team trophy. Get yourselves buddied up.

We are also in discussion with companies regarding inflateable hire and have also made inquiries about a Scalextric track (hopefully with our circuit layout).

If you have anything that can be used during the evening please feel free to bring it along.  Pogo sticks, space hoppers, supersized footballs, etc. Any good facepainters out there willing to donate their time? I will personally pay for the paints if I get some offers.

Ian has offered a prize for the best fancy-dress costume of the weekend. Make sure I take your photo to be in with a chance of winning! I think a mankini competition would be highly amusing. What do you think ladies?

Ross Deal (Junior TKM)  is in the process of collecting for a sponsored head shave. Do we have any hairdressers willing to do the deed for him?

Unfortunately for those of you who have enquired, we cannot run karts in the evening. Our marshals need a rest and we will be using the circuit for other purposes.   Jo
