No maximum TKM grids

For the Senior and Junior TKM grids at the Chris Hart and Robert Bailey events there will no maximum on the numbers of entries accepted. Ensure your entry is submitted as soon as possible and pass on this news to someone else as we want to contribute as much as possible to charity!

Remember a minimum of �5 per entry will be goingto Cancer Research

Congratulations to Callum Bowyer (Minimax), Isaac Lyons (Senior Rotax), Ryan Singleton (Junior Rotax) and Luke Caudle (Rotax 177) - winners of the 2008 ABkC Rotax 0 Plate at Clay Pigeon this weekend.

As you may have seen if you visited the website over the weekend we ran live timing on the website for the first time and I'm glad to say it was very successful. Thanks to all those who have already provided feedback - comments and suggestions will be very welcome at webmaster@claypigeonkartclub.com.

Following the success of getting results from last weekend's NKRA races online as the day progressed, we're hoping to go one step further this weekend and test out

I'd like to add that we really are testing this out for the first time this weekend (and the software that runs it won't be finished until this evening!) - I would be very grateful if as many people as possible would try it out over the 2 days - feedback/ideas/details of any problems accessing it will be greatly appreciated by email at webmaster@claypigeonkartclub.com.

August Results Online

The results from today's seventh round of the CPKC Club Championship are now online!

Many of you will know Howie Chapell our regular Clerk of the Course who had a serious car accident on the way to the circuit today. Good news is that whilst shaken up and bruised, and the car's not too good either(!), Howie did not sustain any serious injury and we all wish him a speedy return to full health and look forward to seeing him back at the circuit very quickly. We'd also like to recognise the sterling work of Sue Bury who stood up to the mark as Clerk of the Course for the day, supported by a number of observers on the circuit, and controlled the thirty-six races with authority and efficiency. Thank you Sue from all at CPKC who appreciate your ongoing support.

Despite the poor weather on Saturday and threats of rain leading to damp conditions today, the meeting ran very smoothly with no significant accidents. Thanks to all drivers, supporters, officials and members for their ongoing support and congratulations to all the trophy winners!

Next weekend is the Grand Final of the NKRA National Championships - even if you're not in the championship why not come along and watch! The weekend after that is the Rotax 0 Plate - there's going to be some fantastic competition there so lets see as many CPKC Rotax members there as possible. With the forthcoming TKM Super One round in September the next club round on 14th September incorporates the Chris Hart memorial trophy for Senior TKM, and the new Robert Bailey memorial for Junior TKM drivers. Get your entries in early, as this is expected to be a busy meeting with full grids, and as we shall be raising money for Cancer Research make sure you bring some cash!

The TKM Chris Hart and Robert Bailey Memorial Event
14th September 2008
Proudly supporting Cancer Research UK

The 2008 running of this popular event at Clay Pigeon will take place on 14th September.

Tragically this year another name will be added to the event. You may have seen that one of our Club members, 13 year old Robert Bailey sadly passed away on 27th June 2008 after losing the fight against cancer. He had passed his ARKS test and competed in one event as a novice at Clay before becoming too ill to continue. A new perpetual trophy will be commissioned in his name to be competed for by the Junior TKMs.

As previously, this meeting will be run in support of Cancer Research UK. Chris Hart, our good friend from Karting succumbed to cancer nearly 3 years ago aged just 49. He was a massive supporter of TKM and his enthusiasm and infectious humour are still fondly remembered.
Sponsors are currently being sought and contacted. Half of all contributions will be donated directly to Cancer Research UK, the remainder will be the competitors prize fund. �5 from each entry fee will also be donated.

Matt Bell, the winner for the last 2 years is attempting to win the fantastic trophy for a third time, surely this year the competition will be too strong? - - Make sure you enter and make it difficult for him!

Reporting sad news

It is with deep regret that CPKC report the very sad loss of

Robert Bailey

who, at just 13 years, lost his battle against cancer on 27th June 2008.

Rob was an avid motorsport fan and with help and support of Lee Rennison worked hard to achieve his race licence and entered his first race in February this year and had hoped for a long career in the sport.

His family recall how pleased Rob was that he could call himself a proper racing driver. Sadly, soon afterwards he became too ill to continue.

Rob is remembered warmly by all who knew him and we are currently considering the most appropriate way to preserve his memory at the Club

We are delighted to announce that the results from today's very successful club championship round are now online - with over 200 entries and 46 races which all finished on time before the end of the day, we hope you'll agree that it was a great day!
