Red flag in Honda final

We have received the following message from the Alderton family regarding the red flag incident in the Honda final.

"I would just like to thank everyone for their concern regarding my son Thomas who was thrown from the kart in the Honda Cadet final yesterday. Apart from some aches and a spectacular collection of bruises he is fine this morning and itching to get in a kart asap (we couldn't quite fix it time for the restart on the day). I hope the other lads involved were as lucky and also considered to be OK now the adrenaline had worn off."

It's great to hear that Thomas is OK, and we look forward to seeing him at Clay again soon.

July Round

Thanks to everybody who came along to the sixth round of the CPKC 2010 championship this weekend.

The weekend was our Chris Hart and Robert Bailey Memorial Event in support of Cancer Research UK. We had many generous sponsors who donated money and raffle prizes to support the event - many thanks to all of our sponsors, and also to everybody who bought raffle tickets or donated money on the day. We hope to have more news soon about the total amount raised for charity over the weekend.

It was also the first round of our Summer Challenge - a mini championship-within-a-championship running during July, August and September. All members in the main championship are automatically entered, but entry just into the Summer Challenge is only �10. The best two of three rounds count, so there's still time to enter before August to have a chance of winning. Championship points after the first round can also be found above. Thanks to all drivers that entered, all parents and mechanics, and all officials for a good day's racing. It was a great weekend with good weather throughout both days. We look forward to seeing you all next month for the Chris Hart and Robert Bailey Memorial event raising money for Cancer Research UK. Watch this space for details of sponsor contributions towards the prize and charity funds.

We would also like to thank everybody attending for respecting the one minute silence this morning in memory of Tony Trueman. We shall all fondly remember Tony who has been a great supporter and friend of the club for many years, and will be sadly missed.

Sorry that we couldn't get the live timing and results online during today; we had a few problems with the lapscoring and transponder timing equipment, but these will hopefully be resolved before next month.

The fourth round of the CPKC championship was held today, and was a great success. Once again, we had forty races to get through and thanks to the hard work of everyone involved there were few holdups and we got through the day with no problems.

Another successful weekend!

Once again, we had a large number of races to get through during the day but thanks to the hard work of both competitors and officials, we managed it without any delays or serious incidents. Congratulations to all those winning trophies this weekend!

Thanks to everyone who supported our fundraising draw. Congratulations to Ian Rennison for his win, and we are very grateful to him for his donation towards the prize fund! Regrettably one driver expressed his opinion that offering this incentive was wrong, however the significant majority of the rest of the competitors confirmed their belief that it was a very generous personal gesture from Ian.
